Shutter count

How to check the shutter count on the Canon EOS 700D

The shutter count is the number of photos a camera has taken. It's the first thing to check before you buy a used Canon EOS 700D, and worth adding to your listing when you sell one.

How to check the shutter count on the Canon EOS 700D

  1. This Canon doesn't store the count in its photos, so we read it from the camera over a USB cable.
  2. On a Windows computer, download our program. On a Mac, Linux or Android, use Chrome or Edge.
  3. Connect the camera, switch it on and click “Read the count” or “Connect to camera”.
